“Every once in a while you’ll succeed, most of the time you’ll fail and most of the time the circumstances will be well beyond your control…”

Today, I let someone’s words knock me down; but these words will always get me back up.

I graduated from Syracuse University in May 2012 and the wise words of Aaron Sorkin’s commencement speech changed my life. It’s a moment I will always remember and gives me the strength & courage to get through those tough times.

“How you live matters. You’re going to fall down but the world doesn’t care how many times you fall down, as long as it’s one fewer than the number of times you get back up.”

How I live matters. My health is everything to me. I’ve failed many times, but I will never give up my fight against Lyme.

If you weren’t in the Class of 2012, never attended Syracuse University or college at all, I believe these words can speak to anyone.
