“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”- Lao Tzu
Sometimes I feel like my fight with lyme is a battle I’m never going to win. Then, when you least expect it, someone or something gives you hope, a new perspective to look at things.
I have what I call, “my moment of clarity”
I never know when it will come or how long it was last- but in this moment, the fog clears, and I can see. I can see the road and all its twists and turns. I knew the road to recovery was going to be long, but I know where I’m going; I know I’m headed in the right direction.
Over the weekend, two of my old friends I haven’t seen or spoken to since high school, reached out to me. We had lost touch over the years–you know when you go off to college, meet new people and get really busy–you transition between many new stages of life…
Through all the changes, one thing remains the same. People still care. Even if you’ve lost touch.
And sometimes, people who you were never really friends with growing up, become new friends.
Thank you Claudia & Michelle. I am so glad that after all the years you both support me in my fight against lyme & if you could help in any way. I’m happy that two more people are aware of lyme disease and will stop it from spreading.
