Yard Improvements

Besides applying Frontline to my pets once a month, the tick tubes I’ve scattered across the lawn, there are still more ways to make the yard a bit more protected against ticks…

A big thank you to my dad and my wonderful neighbors who have been working on both our yards for the past few weekends to protect us all against ticks!

While I have provided you with a few ways to protect yourselves against ticks,

this is an example of what NOT to wear when doing yard work!!

This is my dad wearing shorts and you also can’t really see but he’s wearing slippers!! I was fighting with him so much about putting sunscreen on that I forgot about his apparel! He did however, put on higher socks & sneakers afterwards, bug spray, and let me and my mom check him for ticks when he came in!

Please wear light colored clothing and make sure to tuck your socks into your pants, making it easier to spot ticks, harder for them to latch on (ticks crawl up, so feet and ankles are the first places they will go!) and easier to remove them too.

Happy Summer everyone! Stay safe!
