This is my amused face

This is what I call my amused face…

Amused face

A few weeks ago I was battling the flu, which I was very lucky only lasted about a week and a half. Unfortunately, since then, my stomach has not been right.

6 years ago, I found out that I had a hiatal hernia, which is pretty common. When it’s small it doesn’t cause many symptoms, if any at all. After I had the flu and threw up a lot, I figured I may have¬†aggravated it because I’m experiencing symptoms similar to a larger hiatal hernia. I’m not one to self-diagnose, (though I’ve gotten to know myself fairly well), I made an appointment with the gastroenterologist.

Today I found out that not only do I need another endoscopy to see if the hernia has gotten worse (which I pray I will not need surgery for and that meds + time will help it), I also have Post- Viral Gastroparesis.

2014, you have not been good to me, but luckily, you are far from over and I have lots of time to turn this year around! While I’ll continue to have another rough month, I’m getting through it with all the love and support of friends, family, the community, and all those I’ve met who also struggle with Lyme disease & other chronic illnesses.

So, this explains my amused face- but don’t worry this is one way I make myself laugh!
