Hello, all —
It has been quite some time since I’ve written a blog post (as well regularly written them), as my journey to health and well-being continues to be a difficult one.
I hope to return to my blog as soon as possible but in the mean time, I am more active on and Twitter. I encourage you to follow along! You can ask me questions there or via e-mail — I try to always respond ASAP.
Anyway, it’s about time I talk about WEGO Health and the Fourth Annual WEGO Health Activist Awards!
For those of you who do not know what WEGO Health is, please click here. To sum it up, WEGO Health is a platform designed to connect health advocates. They do this by helping individuals, organizations, and/or causes build new relationships, access resources, encourage community engagement and growth. That’s just the very beginning!
What are the #HAAwards? (Health Activist Awards)
The WEGO Health Activist Awards are a way we can thank the health activists who have inspired us. If you admire a health activist because of his or her dedication to spreading awareness for a cause or sharing their own personal experiences & knowledge — and you want to thank them for helping others — please nominate them for an award!
Nominations close December 31, 2014!
There are 14 different categories including: “Best In Show: Twitter”, “Best Team Performance”, “Hilarious Health Activist”, and more! For a list of all the categories as well as a description of each award, please click here!
Why Am I writing about the WEGO Health Activist Awards?
WEGO Health given me some amazing opportunities. They’ve connected me with individuals who have gone from being a stranger to a good friend, helped me learn about so many illnesses out there (I’m fascinated with anything related to the health and medical field!), and helped many brave individuals who stand up for a cause & even share their own stories. They have helped my cause grow and support me as I continue to share my own experiences.
Last year I was not only nominated, but I became one of ten finalists for the “Rookie of the Year” award. It has been one of the greatest honors and achievements to this day.
WEGO Health has again made me feel so proud, so honored and feel like I’m making a difference, by giving me the opportunity to be a judge in the Fourth Annual Health Activist Awards! You can learn more about me and meet all the judges here.
Thank you to all those who have made this possible and have gotten me where I am today!
Every day I continue working on my mental and physical health & well-being and encourage every one (sick or not sick) to do the same! I think I would have given up a long time ago if it weren’t for all the support and positive feedback. It is all worthwhile if I am able to spread awareness not only about Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses but what it is like to live life with chronic/invisible illnesses.
Wishing you all health and happiness this holiday season and in 2015!
